Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation (COH) Bookmark This Page

1-888-WASH-IVF

With controlled ovarian hyperstimulation we are attempting to accomplish three goals: 1) increase the number of eggs that a women releases from the usual 1 per cycle to 3-5 per cycle, 2) increase the number of sperm available to the eggs, 3) decrease the distance that sperm have to travel. The first goal is accomplished with the use of medications (clomiphene citrate or FSH) intended to get the ovaries to release more eggs and the second two goals with the aid of artificial insemination.
